Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Christiansburg, VA, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store offers a truly authentic taste of Southern hospitality and traditional American cuisine. This beloved family restaurant is much more than just a place to eat—it’s a warm, inviting space where guests come together to enjoy comforting, homestyle meals any time of day.

The menu at Cracker Barrel is a celebration of Southern flavors and classic American dishes. For those with a sweet tooth, indulge in the Biscuit Beignets: pillowy buttermilk biscuit dough, deep-fried to golden perfection and tossed in cinnamon sugar, paired with a luscious butter pecan sauce that delights the palate with every bite. The Peach Cobbler is another Southern staple, offering sweet, tender peaches bubbling under a crispy crust that instantly conjures nostalgic memories of homemade desserts. Chocolate lovers will find bliss in the Double Chocolate Fudge CocaCola® Cake, a decadently moist cake infused with real CocaCola® and smothered in rich fudge.

For heartier options, their sampler plates stand out—most notably, the New York Strip Steak & Shrimp Combo, featuring a perfectly cooked 10 oz. New York strip steak topped with buttery garlic sauce alongside crispy, golden Country Fried Shrimp. Accompanied by two country sides and a choice of bread, it's an indulgent feast that satisfies cravings for both surf and turf. Another standout, the New York Strip Steak & Chicken Combo, pairs that same juicy steak with smoky grilled chicken or crispy tender dippers, offering flavor variety that's sure to please any palate.

The beverage menu complements the richness of the food with delightful choices like the Iced S'mores Latte—rich chocolate sauce, robust espresso, and creamy milk, iced and topped with whipped cream, marshmallow drizzle, and a graham cracker crumble; a dessert in a glass that perfectly caps off any meal. For those seeking refreshment, the freshly brewed unsweetened iced tea or a half-gallon of 100% pure Florida orange juice are great options to quench your thirst.

What truly sets Cracker Barrel apart, however, is its atmosphere—a cozy, country-style charm that feels like a warm embrace. Customers frequently comment on the laughter, friendly chatter, and the unmistakable sense of family and comfort that fills the air. The unmatched hospitality shines through with attentive servers who go the extra mile to ensure every need is met, creating a dining experience that’s as satisfying as the food itself.

As guest Yvonne Williams shared, “The food was delicious, service was great and the atmosphere was delightful. There was laughter all around us and a sense of family spending time together. We love this spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!!” Another regular, Tim Williams, praises the consistency and charm, highlighting Cracker Barrel not just as a stopover but a beloved tradition celebrated across multiple locations.

Beyond the plates, the friendly staff and charming gift shop stocked with unique Southern-inspired items add to the appeal, making it a complete experience whether you’re dining in or taking your meal to go. Whether you're craving a hearty breakfast, a fulfilling lunch, or a comforting dinner, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store delivers the genuine flavors and warmth of Southern American hospitality every step of the way.

The curbside pickup was super easy and quick! The server that brought our food was super friendly and I could tell from the check marks on our receipt that she had insured every single item even down to the butter was in the bag. The food was subpar though. Quite different from the last time which has been probably at least five years. The steak tips were dry with very little seasoning. The chicken tenders were a little dry but still pretty good. The Mac and cheese and cheesy hashbrown casserole didn't disappoint though. I had to give the food three stars but the service was impeccable so it deserves five!

Breakfast at Cracker Barrel is usually a good pick. Today it was really good. Our server was great and they were very busy this morning. Manager even came out and asked if we needed anything. The store took most of my wife's money. She loves to shop here. Store items usually start off priced high, but then they'll start discounting it.

Cracker Barrel seems to have the best waitresses, great comfort food (especially breakfast), and a tremendous atmosphere, and wonderful stores full of unique item. Also, this is consistent across all there restaurants! We travel from PA to Florida by different paths and head west in our van motorhome. We've stayed overnight more than 40 times in the last 5 years. My wife and I have come to love Cracker Barrel and our dog does, too! (He gets bacon!)

Was disappointed. Everything was cold except for the hash brown casserole. The French toast and pancake were smaller and were not browned. I went after work that morning. I should have asked the cooks name. But didn’t. The pancakes were bigger than the last time and browned and warm. Loved them and everything else I had. Young Waitress very friendly and happy to serve. Great attitude!!!

The waiter I had was great. The food was alright. Tasted good, but not overwhelmingly like “I got have it!” good. They turned the lights down at one point, it was more light outside than it was inside. Keep in mind it’s daylight-savings time and it was 5:15 pm. Anyway, the restaurant was pretty clean and comfortable and with the fireplace going, quite cozy. If you’re hungry and you’re in Christiansburg and want a good, well rounded meal, this pretty good place to eat.

I visited this restaurant again today after a couple of years, and I’m thrilled to say the experience was just as amazing—if not better! We tried the spicy chicken sausages, hash browns, bacon, chocolate pancakes, and biscuits with gravy. Every single dish was delicious and flavorful. The spicy chicken sausages were especially outstanding, and their pancakes remain unbeatable—fluffy, rich, and absolutely perfect. This place consistently delivers on quality and taste, making it a go-to spot for breakfast or brunch. Highly recommended!
